I have been doing a multitude of art related things ranging from crafting all the way to drawing, since I was little. As a result of the high volume of hobbies I could not improve on any one of them very quickly. Although I realized this when I first entered high school, I still tried to keep every single one of my hobbies during my freshman and sophomore years. During my Junior year I became more aware about how far behind I had allowed my favorite hobby, drawing and painting, to fall. I looked at other people's art and realized that most of their art was way past better than mine, but instead of becoming depressed I became even more determined to improve my art. I started to seriously listen to the lessons in art class, I began to practice drawing from real life more and more, and I cut out most of my original set of hobbies to make way for practice for my personal favorite. The best part is it paid off. My art teacher moved me to an advanced class, I've had several people notice my talents and received a few commissions, but the best part is definitely being able to look at my own work and like what I've done even though I know that I have a long way to go.
